Devon
Minnow
Weight: 6g, 8g, 11g, 16g, 22g or 30g
Colour of skirt: black, red, yellow, purple, sand or white
Head: silver or gold
Hook: treble or single (pricking, held of fish and
incomparable robustness)
Comment: ancestral lure of the salmon anglers in
the south-west of France and Brittany, this lure has seem to have
lost its glory over the past few years. This is a pity because it
remains very effective on salmon and trout. It is enough to give one’s
word for the old Irish ghillie: because a fixed salmon is sulky in
your spinner after several passages in front of its nose, plank him,
them moustache with a whirling Devon, it will not resist... Combining
skirt and propeller, the Devon is without a doubt as effective for
trout as it is for salmon. |
